(
Worthy Watch) – The Israeli Air Force (IAF), with assistance from the Israel Defense Force’s (IDF) Nahal’s brigade, targeted and attacked approximately 10 Hamas terrorists who had holed up in a building near Al-Quds Hospital, planning an assault on the IDF. The resulting airstrike caused substantial secondary explosions, indicating the presence of a Hamas weapons cache next to a hospital which is against the 1949 Geneva Convention Accords.
In accordance with international law, military activities within hospitals are strictly prohibited. The 1949 Geneva Conventions stipulate that medical facilities must be positioned to avoid being endangered by attacks on military targets. Furthermore, a 1977 additional protocol explicitly prohibits the use of medical units as shields to protect military objectives from attack in any circumstance.
