U.S. Incoming Defense Minister Pete Hegseth, speaking from Jerusalem, shared a deeply reflective message about Israel’s history and the extraordinary events that have shaped it. He recounted his visit to the Western Wall and its tunnels, exploring the ancient foundations of the Old City, and described the powerful sense of awe he felt in witnessing the “miracle before you.” Reflecting on pivotal moments, Hegseth underscored, “1917 was a miracle. 1948 was a miracle. 1967 was a miracle. 2017, the declaration of Jerusalem as the capital was a miracle.” He expressed a stirring hope for the future, concluding, “And there’s no reason why the miracle of the re-establishment of the temple on the Temple Mount is not possible.”
