What happened this week in the stock market was unprecedented … as a group of people took on the giants of Wall Street! And they didn’t just take on the Goliaths … they kicked them where it hurt! Billionaires were on network business shows crying!
The latest reports are that hedge funds have lost nearly $20 billion dollars. Let this sink in …. $20,000,000,000 … this week and they haven’t unspun their position! GameStop as of today still has more shares shorted (120%) than shares available. Meaning unless GameStop decides to just “issue” shares, the losses by the hedge funds have not yet materialized!
And while the traders on r/wallstreetbets—the Reddit forum that kicked off the unlikely rally for GameStop stock—may be racking up profits, the damage is accumulating for short sellers, the investors and hedge funds who bet against or “short” the stock. By Friday, short sellers had lost $19.75 billion on GameStop so far this month alone, according to S3 Partners, a New York-based firm that tracks short positions on U.S. stocks. —Source: Fortune
But what I found particularly interesting is the timing between dates. The Wall Street crash of 1929 took place on October 25, 1929, which was otherwise known as Black Friday — the day after the largest sell-off of shares in U.S. history.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is warning that Americans’ religious liberty is in jeopardy.
“Well, I think that it is probably the most endangered that it has been since the Revolutionary War,” Gingrich declared while participating in a panel discussion moderated by Just the News Editor in Chief John Solomon.
The panel, which also featured former Congressman Allen West (Ret.) and constitutional attorney Jenna Ellis, was part of a virtual event called “Faith Under Fire” sponsored by the nonprofit My Faith Votes.
Gingrich said that just a “handful of pastors” in the U.S. amid the coronavirus pandemic chose to have services while challenging the government to arrest them for doing so. Democrats Have Released a Roadmap to One-Party Rule

The Democrats appear intent on instituting one-party rule in the United States.
They’re trying to use the U.S. Capitol riots as an excuse to criminalize dissent and banish conservative voices from the public sphere, and at the same time they’re hoping to use their temporary, razor-thin majority in Congress to rewrite the rules governing our elections in a way designed to keep the Democratic Party entrenched in power for decades to come.
In the House, Democrats have revived sweeping election reform legislation that died in the Senate during the previous session, perhaps hoping they can browbeat enough Republicans into going along with them. If that happens, the “Grand Old Party” of Abraham Lincoln might as well disband, because Republicans would never have any hope of regaining a congressional majority or controlling the White House under the rules that HR 1 would put in place.

CNN’s Jim Acosta: Trump supporters, Fox News remain ‘a threat to our democracy’
Amazing, what comes out of the mouths of CNN …
CNN chief domestic correspondent Jim Acosta said Sunday that conservative media like Fox News and the people who continue to support former President Donald Trump remain “a threat to our democracy.”
During an appearance on “Reliable Sources,” CNN anchor Brian Stelter said “the world seems a little quiet” after Mr. Trump was permanently banned from Twitter, and he asked Mr. Acosta whether he thought the quiet was temporary.
“I think it is temporary,” Mr. Acosta responded. “I mean, I do think what this country faces right now, and you know, I describe it as the disinformation industrial complex. And that is Trump and his people, conservative outlets like Fox News, and then conservative websites and organizations aligned with the president and conservative platforms. — Source
