COVID Lockdowns Don’t Work: Study

COVID Lockdowns Have No Clear Benefit vs Other Voluntary Measures, International Study Shows

A new study evaluating COVID-19 responses around the world found that mandatory lockdown orders early in the pandemic did not provide significantly more benefits to slowing the spread of the disease than other voluntary measures, such as social distancing or travel reduction.

The peer reviewed study, which was conducted by a group of Stanford researchers and published in the Wiley Online Library on January 5, analyzed coronavirus case growth in 10 countries in early 2020. — Source: NewsWeek

  1. I’m in Australia and us and our neighbours, New Zealand, have used lockdowns as part of our covid response. Our countries are fairing better than most both economically and health wise. It appears Stanford researchers haven’t reserached enough.

    • Using two sparsely populated countries thousands of miles from anywhere is not really a great rebuttal. Stopping the virus at the border was an available answer to them but the rest of the World did not have that option due to public outcry against being seen as racist. Oz and NZ are basically in a bubble until the vaccines are distributed – geography did them a solid
