Senate Republicans Want to End Biden Policy of Expelling Troops Who Refuse COVID Vaccine
Don’t sacrifice U.S. military readiness for the sake of the “inept bureaucratic policy” on mandatory COVID vaccinations, a group of Republican senators is telling their leaders.
In a letter to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and other GOP leaders, the thirteen senators pressed for an amendment to the Fiscal 2023 National Defense Authorization Act prohibiting the expulsion of troops who refuse the COVID vaccine and reinstating those who already have been kicked out.
They say the NDAA shouldn’t advance without the amendment. But it’s not clear if the senators have the support of McConnell, without whom the amendment won’t succeed. Source: CNS News
Bill Gates Details Early Days of Covid-19
“It wasn’t until early February when I was in a meeting that experts of the foundation said there’s no way you know… it [Covid-19] had a low fatality rate … kind of like the flu is,” stated Bill Gates.
Health care workers fired over vaccine mandate awarded $10 million in settlement
Illinois health care workers who were fired or otherwise impacted by their hospitals’ COVID-19 vaccine mandate will receive a $10 million settlement after filing a lawsuit challenging the rule.
“Let this case be a warning to employers that violated Title VII,” Mat Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, the group behind the lawsuit, told the Washington Examiner. “It is especially significant and gratifying that this first classwide COVID settlement protects healthcare workers.”
The case centers around workers at NorthShore University HealthSystem, who filed a lawsuit in October 2021 claiming their employer illegally refused to grant any religious exemptions to a COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Source: Fox Business
Rand Paul: ‘We will get to the bottom’ of COVID-19’s origins if GOP wins majority
Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul predicted that a GOP majority in Congress would “get to the bottom” of the origins of COVID-19, something that still hasn’t been fully investigated.
“I think most of the mainstream media has kept off of the airwaves a discussion of gain-of-function research or the origins of the virus, but we will get to the bottom of this,” Paul said on a conference call with reporters. “It’s going to take control of committees …
“I’ve talked to Jim Jordan and others about investigating this. I think there’s a great deal of interest in investigating the origins of the virus. I’m very interested in it, but it depends on elections. Elections have consequences. We’ll have to see what happens in November.” Source: Just the News
Cincinnati federal judge temporarily stops Air Force globally from discharging religious vaccine refusers
A federal judge in Cincinnati has certified a national class action lawsuit against the entire U.S. Air Force worldwide and issued a temporary restraining order preventing the Biden administration from enforcing the COVID-19 vaccine mandate on any servicemembers who requested religious exemptions.
In this local case that has now gone global, U.S. District Court Judge Matthew McFarland’s order Thursday stops the Air Force from discharging or disciplining servicemembers for 14 days.
This impacts 80 to 100 plaintiffs stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, who filed the lawsuit against top military leaders back in February, and now 9,000 to 10,000 service members nationally, according to the attorney for the local plaintiffs, Chris Wiest of northern Kentucky. Study: Natural immunity to COVID gives 97% protection against severe reinfection for many months
Researchers say in a newly released study that prior infection with COVID-19 offers long-lasting and comprehensive immunity against severe and fatal cases of the virus.
The study, published online at medRxiv and not yet subject to peer review, was conducted by a team of researchers largely based out of Qatar. The scientists in the preprint stated “the future of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic hinges on virus evolution and duration of immune protection of natural infection against reinfection.”
They also said that while immunity derived from “natural infection” offers a relatively quickly-waning protection against re-infection, the durability of natural immunity against severe reinfections was robust and long-lasting. Source: Just the News
